Our History

In 2010, four families believed that God was leading them to initiate a church plant…specifically a church committed to loving people and teaching God’s Word. In January of 2011, Cornerstone gathered for a worship service in the community room of a local bank which continued for several weeks.

God blessed His work and soon we began to meet and minister out of a suite in the old Walmart building (which had been converted to an indoor mall). The ministries continued to grow and the owner of the building graciously allowed us to use additional space for these various ministries. In 2014, Cornerstone purchased the entire building, with the idea to establish a center in which we could gather for worship, Bible studies and events, and from which multiple ministry opportunities could spring to our community and beyond.

In 2015, the church members voted to affiliate with a fellowship of other churches called the Evangelical Free Church of America. Soon, Pastor Dean Carlson and Jill joined the ministry in June of 2015. More people have continued to join the Cornerstone family…worshipping together, encouraging and meeting needs, and reaching out to our community and world…together!

As a newer church family, we have a lot of ministry/service opportunities for you and each person who is part of Cornerstone. Our foundation is Jesus Christ—and our goal is to love and serve Him in all that we do every day, all the time! God has given each of us gifts and talents to use for Him—and we would love to talk more about the opportunities to serve, so give us a shout—call, email, text—or stop by and chat.
